Co-Active Coaching
Co-Active Coaching
Coaching as a profession is now widely respected. People come to us for many reasons – all of them highly individual. At Heart & Soul Coaching Inc., we are discovering that more and more executives and managers are seeking a more holistic and balanced lifestyle. Corporations are starting to accept the fact that work is not a compartmentalized section of life, and that other factors in family and relationships affect our ability to perform efficiently at work.
Three leading authorities in the field of professional coaching (Laura Whitworth, Henry Kimsey-House, and Phil Sandahl) co-authored the book Co-Active Coaching, offering a new model of practice for coaches and “new skills for coaching people toward success in work and life.”
By addressing the whole person, co-active coaching presents a holistic model “with emphasis on producing action and uncovering learning that can lead to more fulfillment, more balance, and more effective process of living.” It is called co-active because it involves the “active and collaborative participation of both the coach and the client.”
The focus of co-active coaching is on you, on what you want out of life, on what you want to achieve. It is a unique and meaningful relationship. Statistics indicate that most of us spend just two minutes a day in meaningful conversation. Co-active coaching changes these statistics, leading to a deeper understanding, resourcefulness, new possibilities, commitment for action, and ultimately success in life and business.
